Come What May

May our days be merry and bright all the way
May the grass be greener where we are
May our ways be gentle and kind every day
And above all, above my head a shooting star

Love is patient, love is kind, it does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud,
It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, not easily angered,
it keeps no record of wrongs
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always preserves

May our days be merry and bright all the way
May the grass be greener where we are
May our ways be gentle and kind every day
And above all, above my head, a shooting star

Through water or fire, sickness and health,
If the mountains tumble I will stay
Through joy and sorrow, poverty and wealth –
I’m eager, I’m ready, come what may
